作品解説
Edge Effect Ensemble （大類朋美，大島路子，植川縁）委嘱作品。
タイトルにも顕れているように，イギリスの作曲家 ベンジャミン・ブリテン（Benjamin Britten）の代表作のひとつ「青少年のための管弦楽入門」（1945）への敬意を込めて制作した。同作は，指揮者が演奏中にオーケストラのことを解説しながら演奏するもので，聴くことによって自然とオーケストラのことを学ぶことができる，いわば「教育的作品」になっている。本作「青少年のための集団即興演奏入門」も，同様に，演奏者らが即興演奏をしながらその方法を解説するものである。「種明かし」を伴う即興演奏は，それを聴くことを面白くするか，あるいはつまらなくするか，どちらだろうか。

Note of the piece:
Commissioned by the Edge Effect Ensemble (Tomomi Ohrui, Michiko Oshima, and Yukari Uekawa).
As you find from the title, this work pays homage to the well- known piece by British composer Benjamin Britten, "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra" (1945). Similar to Britten's educational approach, my composition explains the methods of improvisation while the performers engage in improvisation. Does the addition of an explanatory element to improvisation enhance or diminish the listening experience?
